Friendship and Beechdale celebrate new association
Friendship Care and Housing (Friendship) celebrated their recent union with Beechdale Community Housing on Friday 1st July. To mark the occasion, Margaret Thacker, one of Beechdale’s longest serving residents and a founder member since 1995 was guest of honour. Margaret was presented with a bouquet by June Moriarty, Director of Beechdale and Neighbourhood Services and invited to cut the ceremonial ribbon outside the Beechdale estate office.
Customers, staff, business partners and colleagues from parent company Longhurst Group were invited to the launch event. The morning was spent at Beechdale’s office in Walsall with guests then travelling to Friendship’s office in Newhall Hill, Birmingham for lunch, where they were able to meet other members of staff and tour the new customer access centre.
June Moriarty, Jonathan Driffill (Friendship’s Managing Director) and David Armes (Chairman of Longhurst Group) all spoke of their joy and pride in the new association. Customers, staff and business partners were commended for their involvement and commitment. Jonathan said “Customers are at the heart of our business and we continue to work hard to improve our services and provide community development opportunities. Discussions around regenerating the area and securing grant funding to provide better play areas are now underway”
A celebratory cake was cut by Gillian Fellows MBE (Chair of Beechdale), Rosie Weaver (chair of Friendship) and Margaret Thacker.
